Vice President, Engineering

The role reports directly to the CTO and works collaboratively with our Operations, Security and Product teams.  The scope of responsibility for this role includes all areas of Brainshark’s award-winning Sales Training and Coaching platform.  This is a global 24x7 SaaS platform running mainly in Azure and is used by over half the Fortune 500.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage teams of high-performing engineers delivering highly innovative solutions from design to release across product areas
  • Work in concert with Engineering leadership team to set and execute high-level engineering strategy.
  • Develop strong lines of communication between Engineering, Product, Support, and Sales teams, ensuring that the right feedback gets incorporated in development conversations
  • Develop a culture of collaboration, ownership and innovation across the team
  • Inspire and recruit other excellent engineers, with a focus on building a diverse and inclusive team.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of engineering experience including individual contributor roles writing code, and 5+ years at executive-level in SaaS.
  • Experience scaling engineering infrastructure at a fast-growing startup.
  • Experience managing offshore teams and executing the right mix of on- and off-shore resourcing.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership for cross team efforts in the areas of machine learning, data pipelines, database standardization, frontend, backend and release systems
  • Set a high bar for engineering efforts across teams to ensure excellence in development efforts
  • Foster a culture of innovation and promote engineering best practices across teams
  • Ability to work on multiple projects, manage priorities, and accurately set expectations both within the company and with clients.
  • Ability to make solid business decisions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
